Nature Connection | Forest Bathing

Training

A partnership with Nature

Our Approach

A blended, hands-on program that helps you build a deeper connection, get practical experience, and boost your confidence.

As well as gaining an understanding of the under pinning knowledge and science that validates this work.

This training is to help you to become a grounded and present guide

that embodies this work and is able to work in partnership with Nature.

This is whether you are wanting to train as a certified guide to deliver to others or

if you are wanting to train to develop and deepen a personal practice for yourself.

We offer two levels of training:

  • Foundation Training - this is for those that wish to develop a deeper understanding and a practice for their own use.

  • Certified Training - this is for those that wish to gain a deeper understanding, develop a personal practice and to share this with others on a professional basis.

Both levels can be accessed via our yearly training.

The foundation level can be taken over the first four months of training or five months if you would like to join the in person intensive week.

Course schedule

Module One – The Concepts

This module focuses on deepening your connection with Nature. It also provides the history/origins and the science behind our work

You will start with a full day live online that will provide an introduction to this work, you will also experience a nature walk live online.

During this month, there will be daily invitations for you to complete to help your own practice. This will help you in developing yourself to being a grounded guide.

Module Two – Starting a session

This module is the preparation and the start of a session. The initial elements that make the difference to your participants. Your role as a guide and also to continue to deepen your embodied awareness.

Here we learn about the importance of walking your talk and the difference that provides to your group. We explore what makes a guide excel at their practice and deepens connections for your participants and creating a community. We explore attributes including presence, grounded, wisdom, emotionally mature, compassionate and insightful self reflection.

This month; self work will continue with self practices and start to create your own introductions and embodied awareness. Starting to put YOU into your delivery.

Module Three – The Flow

The structure a session, crafting invitations and letting this flow. There are hundreds of invitations and most of these are created in the moment in partnership with nature.

We explore the importance of language and how using our own grounded presence to help offer appropriate invitations to your participants.

During this module we explore creating and holding a container during the sessions and how to integrate at the end.

Module Four – Holding space

What it means to hold space for you and others.

We start this module by looking within and how knowing ourselves can inform our practice. We explore practices to develop our self reflection and ways that we can deepen both our own presence and connectedness. Next we explore how this impacts on our relations with others and ways that we can increase a sense of safety, calm and grounded leadership.

Creating and holding this container is an important factor for your participants and delivering with ease.

Module Five – Deepening connection

Attend 5 days in-person, practising all elements of the session.

You will have time and space to practise every part of your sessions, create invitations and find your flow and ease in delivery.

This week is excellent in building your confidence to going solo.

We also look at different types of landscapes, risk assessments and tea ceremonies.

(If you are unable to attend the 5 day intensive - then you will be offered two live online weekends (before and after this week) for practise and delivery of sessions. You will also be requested to record yourself in delivering a full session and covering each component for certification)

Day five – prepare and deliver a nature connection session to a small group of volunteers

During this module we also explore how you wish to utilise these skills, creating a business plan

Also to start planning for upcoming case studies, outdoor first aid and insurance requirements.

Module Six – The practicalities

What you need to be able to offer sessions.

You will need to completing 5 case studies and your own personal medicine walk along with any outstanding assignments.

As part of the case studies, each one will need a risk assessment and a self reflective synopsis.

You will also be able to access a supervision session directly with myself.

LIVE SESSIONS

There is one live teaching session every module and one practise session and two further voluntary discussion calls.

There are two supervision sessions that can be accessed during module 6 and month 7.
